Division of Rheumatology, Department of Medicine, UCLA School of Medicine, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA, USA Liver transplantation has never been reported in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). At our medical center, three patients with SLE underwent transplantation and it was successful in two of them. Management considerations germane to SLE are reviewed.
